Homologation

Every vehicle imported from the USA must be adapted to comply with applicable European regulations. As part of the homologation process, we organize and coordinate the necessary technical modifications through certified partner workshops to prepare the vehicle for European safety, lighting, electronics, and emissions requirements.

These measures serve to prepare for the subsequent individual TÜV inspection and later road approval, and are carried out on the basis of the applicable EU directives.

Homologation • EU conformity

What is included in the homologation?

We will handle the organization of the necessary technical modifications to your US vehicle. These modifications will be carried out by certified specialist workshops. The final technical inspection will be performed by TÜV, DEKRA, or a comparable testing organization.

01

Conversion of the lighting system

Lighting technology • E-marking • EU beam pattern

The lighting according to the US specification does not comply with the applicable European approval regulations (StVZO). To prepare for the EU approval, the following lighting components and functions will therefore be adapted.

Headlights and taillights
Side markings & indicator colors
DRL configuration & light distribution
Beam patterns according to EU specifications
02

Electronic system adjustments

Speedometer • TPMS • Control units • Driver assistance systems

The electronic vehicle systems are being prepared for the requirements of European approval. This includes in particular the conversion of the display and warning systems (e.g. km / h display), the configuration of TPMS functions, display and control signals as well as the vehicle-specific conversion of relevant control units.

TÜV/DEKRA compliant – tailored to the requirements of the technical inspection.
03

Safety-related conformity requirements

VIN • Airbag • Seat belts • ISOFIX/LATCH • Marking

As part of the homologation, relevant safety-related vehicle components are taken into account and documented. These include, in particular, restraint systems (belts, airbags), ISOFIX / LATCH attachment points, reflectors, as well as vehicle features that are subject to visibility and labeling.
